Writers’ Block - 2nd attempt
Some shrieking family of tasteless property-ladder-clambering wannabes on the box seem to have frightened my cable broadband box into failure just now and so I shall try to rewrite this post from fulmineous memory.
Ah yes, I found out this morning, to my chagrin, by means of ”Pearls Before Swine” cartoon by Stephan Pastis, “buttocksesses” is not, in fact, a real word and so *bang* goes the theme of today’s planned diatribe. Instead, I have decided to add another resolution to my short list of revolutionary resoltions: not to fill my blog with “self-promotional links” and not to highlight each day how I have managed to achieve thuis superhuman feat of self-restraint. If you want to find out any of the wonderful things that GardenLend has to offer, then you will have to go to the Blogroll to learn more.
Resolutionary progress:
- Get published
A minor setback - see above - soon overcome by realising that a slight change of tack might be required. - Get exhibited
Read today about ‘Creative Personalities 2009′, a festival of art dealing personality disorders, to be held in Leeds this month at The Carriageworks Theatre in the city’s Millennium Square. Unfortunately I will not be able to get along to see it, but did inspire me further into getting exhibited. I searched for links and checked what I found, which leads me to: - Get rich(er) &/or better
(a) emailed an invoice for my IT services for last month, which will cover this month’s mooring fees and some travel - at least getting no poorer.
(b) found out more about http://www.personalityplus.co.uk/ - a recently formed group that uses creativity to help challenge the stigmata of the diagnosis of personality disorder and also http://www.borderlineuk.co.uk/ - a user-led network providing information and resources relating to BPD. Both sites are of interest; the former seems more inspiring with only aspirations; the latter having more informative but seemingly impenetrable and based one person’s hierachical vision of the taxonomy involved. Maybe it’s just me - there is a lot of information available there, but it feels to be a large stream of incomplete data in comparison to the trickle of the former site. Emailed both sites to explain my interest in the “Creative Personalities” Festival and to find if there were more resources closer to home. - Get out of the United Kingdom before the Olympics.
The gradual steps to achieving this noble goal took a tentative foot or two forward today when the person with whom we are considering a mutual exchange contacted me to arrange to come over and view the flat on Sunday; I shall have to get the mop, bucket, vacuum cleaner & feather duster out of their hiding-holes and put them to good use over the next day and a half so the place looks sufficiently spick and span for him then.
