Blogging for fun and therapy.
I just received my first payment from today.com for my recent blogging efforts. Admittedly, it wasn’t the thousands of Pounds that I had hoped for at the outset of this online journal, but it was definitely worth the time and effort involved. Apparently, without so much self-reference and auto-linking, I might have made a little more geldt, but hey-ho, the psychotherapy would have cost me more.
It has been an interesting experiment which I am keen to pursue. It has focussed my thoughts for an hour or more each day trying to work out what is important, what is less so and what is just plain irrelevant, as well as giving free rein to occasional artistic outbursts: which is nice.
The blog has even had some feedback and visitors, which is quite amazing; far more than I ever expected. I suppose that it goes to show that I can write something that is of interest to at least one person who doesn’t know me. The paranoia and fears of rejection have not been heightened too much, so combined with the periods of introspection and analysis, financial remuneration and a feeling that something that I have done has had some impact on my - admittedly limited in number - readers has made it all worthwhile and something that I am keen to continue.
Thanks, today.com - it’s off to eBay I go!
